We spent the week-end in Caseville, but that didn't cause me any physical pain; so I'll recap that later.
Today was enough to feel like I am 17 again and in Air-Force boot camp. Only I'm old now and I feel it. There aren't too many sections of my body that don't have a sore spot.
I was in Kidz church today. And I was "showing" the kids how to worship (Yeah, like they don't already know how, and they need me, right?). We got these awesome songs that you "jump" dance to. It's like African dancing. It is awesome and it gets the kids all riled up in God. I got shin splints in my calfs. My hips and my butt are one continuous band of pain. Then I got a head-ache to top that off. And my back from the lower up to my neck is contorted, tight and sore. I usually have Mike put it back in place at least once daily, but he is still in Caseville searching for that big buck with all the branches in his antlers.
I really got my body out of wack by rescuing two damsels in distress. A women a little older than me, and her mom were trying to change their flat tire. It probably took a half an hour with the three of us and my three kids looking on. It probalbly would have taken them over an hour, because they couldn't deciper the instructions on how to just get the spare out of the trunk of the car. That added to my hurts...my knees, elbow, the fat on my belly from scooting under the car.
The week-end in Caseville was ardorous just because it took kindness and patience when I didn't feel like it. We invited Patrick's best friend. We invited him to play with Patrick and to get Patrick to play. So the friend played with Rachel and Matthew instead. Patrick played games on his gameboy that he had been grounded from for a week, and he read and watched tv, pretty much in that order. So I had to direct his high-mantenance best friend who wasn't playing with him, and Rachel and Matthew in their playing. Usually Rachel and Matthew are pretty good at playing without me and Patrick does his own thing and then I do my own thing. It wasn't like that. It was hard work making sure they were all playing, and not picking on each other, and telling on each other.
I read the Bible pretty much every chance I could get. I've been pretty hungry for the word. To get time to myself, I basically have to go without sleep in the middle of the night. It works great for me. It's very quiet in the middle of the night.
I've been feeling pretty close to God, lately. I don't want it to stop. I need God so much.
